To compare performance of our elected officials from year to year and term to term, it is imperative that we first agree upon the metrics and methodology for obtaining them. I mean, duh.
And yet, I cannot think of a single data point that both parties acknowledge as fact. If we can't discern what's true and false, HTF can we determine what's working and what's not?
We do not have to wait for someone else to figure it out. In fact, the beaucrats responsible for aggregating, normalizing and reportig data are the very people who have the most incentive to fabricate results. Right, so, let's try something different. Let's Do Something to at least agree upon what we are actually fighting over. I'll start with this lame web page and a few metrics with cross-checked metrics and triple tested methods.
